Kirby’s journey to Traveling Vineyard began shortly after her son’s second birthday. It was time to find a job but she was anxious about the hunt. She knew that she couldn’t bear to go back to the corporate world. She didn’t want to relive her real estate years. Her inspiration came in the form of her supportive husband who asked her, simply, “Well, what do you love? What are you passionate about?” The answer: wine. If her husband provided the spark, her mother, unknowingly, suggested a structure: “Why don’t you try direct sales?” At first, Kirby rejected it out of hand, thinking there was no possible way she could go into people’s homes. But in addition to those organizational skills, she dusted off her old theatre degree. Talking to people was something she could do. Traveling Vineyard sounded too good to be true. It wasn’t.
